You can adapt the seasoning in this preparation to you taste by using different spices, such as cumin seeds, mustard seeds, ground turmeric, paprika or a pinch of saffron. You need to cook the couscous in a microwave container with a firm lid.
1 cup Gourmet Pearl Couscous
2 tbsp olive oil or other oil
a little salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 1/4 cups of stock of your choice (chicken stock is nice)
1/2 tsp curry powder or other spices of your choice
Place the Gourmet pearl couscous in a large microwave container. Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, cold stock and the curry powder and stir briefly. Cover loosely with a lid – the steam must be able to escape a bit – and microwave on high for 6-7 minutes.
Allow the pearl couscous to rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Serve with a stew or a vegetable dish.
